Product Overview & Company Profile

Our Dry Dial Cast Iron Multi-Jet Water Meter is designed for accurate measurement of cold potable water in residential, commercial, and industrial applications. The multi-jet principle ensures consistent accuracy across all flow rates, while the hermetically sealed dry dial remains fog-free for decades.
Key Features & Advantages of Cast Iron
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Multi-Jet Mechanism | Water enters through multiple tangential ports, evenly striking the impeller for consistent accuracy across all flow rates. |
| Dry Dial Register | Magnetic drive keeps counter completely sealed from water – NO fogging, NO condensation, crystal-clear reading for decades. |
| Magnetic Shield | Protects against external magnetic tampering attempts. |
| Built-In Strainer | Stainless steel inlet screen captures debris, protecting internal mechanism. |
| Low Starting Flow | Detects even small leakages (as low as 4 L/h for DN15). |
| External Adjustment | Calibration can be fine-tuned without breaking the seal (optional). |
| Pulse Output Ready | Pre-drilled for optional reed switch or Hall sensor for remote reading. |
Why Cast Iron?
- Exceptional Durability: Withstands high pressure, water hammer, and mechanical stress.
- Corrosion Resistance: Naturally forms protective oxide layer; suitable for underground installation.
- Thermal Stability: Performs reliably in extreme temperature variations.
- Sound Dampening: Cast iron naturally absorbs vibration and flow noise.
- Long Service Life: 15+ years typical service life with minimal maintenance.
- Cost-Effective: Best value for large-scale installations.

Typical Applications of Cast Iron Water Meters
Cast iron multi-jet meters are the preferred choice for a wide range of water measurement applications due to their robustness and reliability:
| Application Sector | Common Uses |
|---|---|
| Municipal Water Supply | Primary metering in city water distribution networks, residential blocks, and apartment complexes |
| Industrial Facilities | Monitoring water consumption in factories, cooling systems, and processing plants where durability under high pressure is essential |
| Commercial Buildings | Office towers, shopping malls, hotels, and hospitals requiring accurate billing and leak detection |
| Agricultural Irrigation | Measuring water usage for farms and irrigation systems, especially where meters may be installed in pits or exposed to soil contact |
| Underground Installations | Direct burial in meter pits or chambers; cast iron's corrosion resistance ensures long-term performance without external protection |
| Replacement of Aging Infrastructure | Retrofitting old cast iron pipelines with compatible meters that match the longevity of existing systems |
| Construction Sites | Temporary water supply monitoring for construction projects |
| Schools & Institutions | Campus-wide water management and sub-metering |
| Mining Operations | Process water measurement in demanding environments |
| Government Facilities | Military bases, public housing, and municipal buildings |

Installation Guide
-
Before Installation
- Flush pipeline thoroughly – remove all sand, stones, and debris.
- Verify size and pressure rating match your system.
- Inspect meter for shipping damage.
-
Installation Requirements
- Flow Direction: Arrow on body MUST point in direction of water flow.
- Position: Horizontal only (dial facing up) – unless vertical model ordered.
- Straight Pipe: Inlet ≥5D (10D for R160), Outlet ≥2D (5D for R160).
- Location: Avoid highest points (air pockets); protect from freezing.
-
Threaded Connection Procedure
- Place rubber gaskets inside coupling nuts.
- Position meter between nuts, ensure flow arrow correct.
- Start nuts by hand – turn counterclockwise until threads engage (feel "click").
- Hand-tighten firmly, then give ¼ to ½ turn with wrench.
- DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN – can crack cast iron body.
- DO NOT use thread sealant – sealing is by gaskets only.
-
Flanged Connection (DN50)
- Ensure flange faces clean, center gasket, insert bolts and tighten diagonally in sequence.
-
Post-Installation Checks
- Slowly open inlet valve to prevent air hammer.
- Check for leaks.
- Bleed air by opening downstream faucet.
- Verify register rotation when water flows.
- Leak test with all faucets closed.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Maintenance Schedule
| Interval | Action |
|---|---|
| Annually | Visual inspection for leaks, damage, or corrosion. |
| Every 2–3 Years | Clean inlet strainer (if water quality is poor). |
| Every 5 Years | Accuracy check against reference meter. |
| 6–8 Years | Replace meter (per regulatory requirements for ≤DN25). |
Troubleshooting Guide
| Problem | Likely Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No registration with flow | Clogged strainer / jammed impeller | Clean strainer; remove debris |
| Registers when no water used | Downstream leak / backflow | Repair leak; install check valve |
| Under-registration (slow) | Worn parts / partial blockage | Replace mechanism; clean strainer |
| Over-registration (fast) | Air in water / pressure fluctuation | Eliminate air; stabilize pressure |
| Foggy dial (dry type) | Seal failure | Replace seal or complete register |
| Leaks at connections | Worn gasket / loose nut | Replace gasket; tighten properly |
| Noisy operation | Cavitation / excessive flow | Check pressure; install reducer |
